Examination & Certification Procedure

A). Assessment Process :

1). Progressive Unit Tests are held regularly, and passing these is a pre-requisite qualification for taking the Semester/Final Examinations.

2). Industrial (On-the-Job) Training feedback & effectiveness is assessed & evaluated on the basis of On-the-Job Training Reports, appraisals from the respective Hotels/Restaurants, and a Viva – Voce.

3). The Faculty assessment of the students on a continuous evaluation basis, giving due weightage to attendance, discipline , class participation, reports, overall personality development, etc, sums up the total grading.

4). Written & Practical Examinations are conducted at the end of the Course/Year.

B). Retake Of Exams : 

1). If the student fails in the Semester/Final Examination, he/she is permitted one retake exam. (CITY & GUILDS re-take needs a supplementary Re-take Examination Fee to be paid by the student).

2). The Minimum Passing Grade is 50% aggregate in both theory & practical exams, as also for Industrial/On-the-Job training. Students must also ensure that they pass in all sub-subjects individually too.

3). Those failing to clear the retakes as well, would be required to clear their backlogs along with their Final exams (CITY & GUILDS re-take exams subject to examination fee for EACH RETAKE – MAX TWO).
